Why Metal?

  • A metal roof can save up to 40% off energy costs. It’s all in the color coating. Standard Metal Sales color coating systems are ENERGY STAR® listed and many are certified by the Cool Roof Rating Council. In both cases, Metal Sales products help to reduce the solar heat load on homes, thereby reducing energy expenditures for cooling.
  • A metal roof will likely be the last roof you ever purchase. A quality metal roof will last for generations – at least three times longer than an asphalt shingle roof.
  • On average, a quality metal roof increases the value of a home by $1.45 per square foot, whereas because of their shorter lifespan, an asphalt shingle roof is often a liability when it’s time to sell. Metal roofs redeem up to 95% of their cost at resale.

Isn't Metal far more expensive than ashalt? - The answer may surprise you.

Because of high oil prices, there is little cost difference between asphalt shingles and metal roofing systems. Asphalt derives from petroleum, so as oil prices rise, the material cost different between metal and asphalt shingles narrows. Additionally, metal roofs have many more innovative features that save homeowners money long after the initial purchase. When you factor in the long lifecycle of metal compared to asphalt shingles, homeowners are beginning to understand the true value that metal roofing brings to a home. This is a major reason why metal is the fastest growing category of roofing in the U.S.
